The Kamiah Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the businesses in Kamiah and the surrounding area. The Chamber is a volunteer group made up of businesses, individuals, organizations, and agencies whose common goal is to make Kamiah a great place to live, work and play.

The Chamber serves you... In 1936, a group of community-minded merchants began to offer a free barbeque dinner as a way of saying thank you to area residents for their patronage. The Kamiah Chamber has carried on the tradition of BBQ days for more than 70 years, organizing and sponsoring nearly every aspect of the Labor Day weekend event. Today, thousands of residents, former residents, and visitors take part in BBQ Days - and the event continues to grow each year.

In 2008 the Kamiah Chamber sponsored or co-sponsored many other community service projects:

• Completed the installation of public artwork on the stage at Riverfront Park.
• Completed the Informational Kiosk at Riverfront Park with artwork, planting beds, & sidewalks.
• Obtained a grant for public art murals on the Old Emporium Building (Hill Photographics).
• Played a key role in the Community Review process.
• Worked with the City of Kamiah to redefine the Western Victorian building code requirements.
• Formed a partnership with UCCF and the American Legion to oversee the remodel and development of the American Legion Community Center.
• Purchased new Christmas decorations for Main Street light poles.
• Presented the annual Christmas Light Parade, along with the Kamiah Fire Dept. & Ambulance Crew.
• Additionally, the Chamber building is open regularly and staffed with friendly volunteers to greet and direct visitors.

Kamiah Bucks

As a Chamber member, you may accept Kamiah Bucks, which come in denominations of $1, $5, $10, and $20. Kamiah Bucks may be used like cash in your store and then exchanged at Johnson’s Jewelry dollar-for-dollar.

Many local employers give Kamiah Bucks as awards or bonuses to encourage buying in Kamiah. Anyone may purchase Kamiah Bucks at Johnson’s Jewelry.
