Riverfront Park Stage Mural Project |
|||
Request for QualificationsSponsored by: Kamiah Chamber of Commerce Mission: In January 2005, citizens of Kamiah defined a vision for the future of the community. Through the Action plan process, the vision was enhanced with more detail: resulting in the following vision statement for what the community wants to become by the 2010.
Project Intent: It is our intent to continue to commemorate the role of the Nez Perce within the Clearwater River region. This public art project will recognize the pivotal part these people played in the success of the Lewis & Clark Corps of Discovery Expedition. The Kamiah Riverfront Park Stage Mural Project will portray the native lifestyle during the time of the expedition through four unique, but related murals; each one representing an early 1800's Nez Perce Village during one of the four seasons. These murals, in addition to another park project, will be a continuation of the Public Art Trail joining the Kooskia Informational Kiosk - Chinook Salmon Sculpture and Kooskia Park Art. The murals will be visible as travelers traverse the Northwest Scenic Byway and will become a part of a lasting legacy of the Lewis & Clark Bicentennial commemorations in Idaho. For complete information about this project, our town, the selection process for artist, timeline, and how to apply, please download our Call for Artists - Request for Qualifications document in Word format or PDF format (PDF requires dowloading the free Adobe Reader).
